The patio is made up of large slab Techo Blu pavers surrounded by a Unilock Estate sitting wall.  The sitting wall is capped with bluestone to give a clean and classy look. Under-cap lights from Integral lighting sit directly under the wall cap and are controlled via a mobile app for easy use by the homeowner.

The circular gas fire pit is built out of the same material as the sitting wall, Unilock Estate block. One of the family’s favorite parts of their fire pit is the log set. The logs look so real that you would never know they are artificial until you get close up. It is a perfect scenario, you get the look and feel of a natural fire with the ease of a gas feature. The firepit is capped with a custom templated natural Bluestone cap. Three under cap lights illuminate the firepit, giving it a soft glow in the evening hours. The fire feature hardware from HPC products is of the highest quality. An easy press of a button on the remote ignites the feature, turning this patio into a cozy retreat.The grill island sits directly outside the back door to the home, making for easy grilling. No long walk with a heavy plate of burgers to cook at this property!

The grill island is built out of Unilock Estate block and is topped with a custom templated granite countertop. A high-end grill unit makes all the difference. The homeowner decided to go with a Napoleon grill for both its features and high quality.

Sugar maples surround the fire pit to provide nice shade and fantastic fall color. The family is originally from New Hampshire and these trees are quintessential New England. The sugar maples are uplit to provide a warm ambient light. To enhance privacy and screening from neighbors, we planted spruces, western red cedar, and dogwoods around the perimeter to create an evergreen buffer all year long. White hydrangea with their joyous summer pom-poms, pink summersweet with their luscious fragrance, and sweetbay magnolia with its large sweet-smelling blooms provide another level of warmth and embrace to the property. Purple perennial geraniums keep blooming all season long, providing an endless vibrant pop of color. In the front of the house, Endless Summer hydrangeas and a hedge of Green Velvet boxwood define the entry from the street. A tall holly hedge, a fragrant Silver Linden, and a flowering Bradford Pear give the family added privacy as they sit on the front porch and relax.

This Needham home was totally transformed by our team.  We took it from a “builder’s special” to a Dream Yard where family and friends can relax, recharge, connect and enjoy the outdoors.
